Fine motor skills refer to the coordination between small muscles, like those of the hands and fingers, with the eyes. Small muscles of the body that enable such functions as writing, grasping small objects and fastening cloths.

Fine motor development is essential for children to develop to move to handwriting and the ability to manipulate with their hands.
